Located immediately to the east of the entrance driveway on the road frontage. The tree appears to be infected by Inonotus hispidus in the main trunk above ground level, there are large fruiting bodies present. A secondary fungal infection is present at the base of the tree, possibly a species of Ganoderma. Only small fruiting bodies are present which look like white lumps. a woodpecker hole is present above the Inonotus hispidus which indicates the likelihood of soft timber. Horse chestnut within Group Two of the Order in the front garden adjacent to the western boundary. The tree appears to be infected by Rigidoporus ulmarius. A large established fruiting body is present at the base of the trunk on the south west side of the tree, also smaller ones on different sides of the tree. An Arboriculturalist from Lincolnshire County Council, Mr. R. Littlewood has advised the applicant that both trees should be removed for safety of the highway and the house.
