| Proposal | Application to carry out works on silver birch trees on the frontage of 141 London Road, Spalding. The trees are within Group 0ne of Spalding Tree Preservation Order No. 70 2006. Please see the plan accompanying the application for identification of trees.
Tree one: at southern end of Group One.
Has a large cavity in the lower trunk.
Fell and plant a replacement silver birch.
Tree two: second tree from southern end of Group One.
Tree has apparently recently shifted position and now leans towards the public footpath.
Fell and plant a replacement silver birch.
Tree three: third tree from southern end of Group One.
May be tip pruned to achieve a balanced appearance.
Tree four: fourth tree from southern end of Group One.
Inspect tree to assess condition, if required reduce top above damaged stem to leave no more than two metres above damage.
Tree five: tree at northern end of Group One.
The tree contains dead wood, colonised by a fungi possibly birch polypore (Piptoporus betulinus). The tree appears diseased with brown staining on the trunk.
